US President-elect Donald Trump’s pick to head the US Health Department, Robert F Kennedy Jr, who had criticised Trump’s fondness for fast food, was seen eating fast food with him in a picture.
In a picture shared by Donald Trump Jr on X, which also featured Elon Musk, Trump, and US House of Representatives Speaker Mike Johnson, Kennedy Jr can be seen holding a McDonald’s burger, with a bottle of Coca-Cola kept nearby.
A plate containing McDonald’s burger and fries was also placed in front of Trump, Musk, and Trump Jr.
Trump Jr shared the picture with the caption, “Make America Healthy Again starts TOMORROW”.
Notably, in a recent interview, Kennedy Jr had called what Trump eats as “poison”. He had said that Trump’s diet during the campaign trail was “really bad”.
“The stuff that he eats is really, like, bad,” Kennedy said in a podcast.
“You have a choice between — you don’t have the choice, you’re either given KFC or Big Macs. That’s, like, when you’re lucky, and then the rest of the stuff I consider kind of inedible,” he had said.
Kennedy Jr is known for advocating for the removal of processed foods from grocery store shelves. However, Kennedy also acknowledges the cultural significance of fast food in the US and has defended it as part of American culture, despite his health initiatives.
